A New Price Tag for a Heart Unworthy

You’ve messed up. You’ve fallen short. Nobody’s going to give you mother-of-the-year award. You’re husband’s exasperated. Your children disdain you. You are not worthy to be called Mom.

But God sees you. He sees your heart. He knows your sacrifices. He feels your pain and understands your disappointments. He gets you.

And He loves you. Even in all you short-comings and failures—your sin—you are worth every drop of blood He shed for you. If you are worth dying for, you’re worth living with.

Scripture is full of what God thinks of you.

He took great pleasure in creating you.

You created it all [all things, including you and me] … because you wanted it. Revelation 4:11 (MSG)

He chose you.

You did not choose me, but I chose you. John 15:16 (NIV)

He loves being in your presence and is more than happy to rescue you. He delights in you and even does a happy dance over you.

The Lord your God is with you,
the Mighty Warrior who saves.
He will take great delight in you;
in his love he will no longer rebuke you,
but will rejoice over you with singing. Zephaniah 3:17 (NIV)

He calls you friend.

I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, … John 15:15 (NIV)

You are His masterpiece.

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)

He calls you royal and holy. He prizes you. He called you into His light.

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9 (NIV)

  1. I like the line “If you are worth dying for, you are worth living with.” This is a great reminder not only of my worthiness, but others that I get mad at as well. Great topic. I’m enjoying your posts very much.

    1. Thank you, Candy. You are quite right. Not only are we of invaluable worth before our Creator, but so are those we feel rank lower than us – for whatever reason. Thanks for noting this. And thank you for your kind words.
